Huge Boost To Indian Railways In Budget 2023?

Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 19 (Maxim News): The Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to allocate a huge budget to Indian Railways in Budget 2023-24. There is a possibility of allocating a huge Rs. 1.9 lakh crore (23 billion dollars) to the railways in the budget. Over 500 semi-high-speed trains and 35 hydrogen-powered trains will be proposed as a boost to Vande Bharat.

Reports state that there are two reasons for the boost to Vande Bharat trains in the budget. The first reason is to replace all Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains with Vande Bharat trains and increase the average speed on the routes to 180 kmph. The second reason is to export Vande Bharat trains to Europe, South America, and East Asia countries by 2025-26. On the other hand, it is reported that 4000 newly designed automobile carrier coaches and 58,000 wagons will be proposed in the budget in 2023. Reports state that these will be implemented in the next 3 years.

HYDROGEN-POWERED TRAINS

Speaking at a program, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that plans are being prepared to run hydrogen-powered trains on 8 heritage routes. In this regard, there are chances of proposals coming into the Budget, the list of heritage routes also includes Darjeeling, Nilgiris, Kalka-Shimla, and Kangra Valley. These new model routes are being designed in the northern Railway workshop. Sonipat section of Haryananwill is examined. It will be possible to turn trains with zero carbon emissions in mountainous areas. It is expected that this budget will be the highest in relation to the proposals for trains, coaches, and wagons. There are opportunities to modernize the plans. (Maxim News)
