Jeevan Reddy Agitated With Farmers, Police Attempts To Arrest

Jagtial/Hyderabad, Jan 19 (Maxim News): Farmers have come on the roads and are staging a dharna in the wake of the call for an eight-day blockage of Jagtial for the cancellation of the master plan.

Congress MLC Jeevan Reddy expressed solidarity with the farmer’s agitation at Tippannapet of Jagtial district. Jeevan Reddy said that the police asked him to stop the agitation. The police tried to arrest him but the women farmers stopped them, which caused a slight tension. Finally, the farmers including Jeevan Reddy stopped the agitation at the request of the police.

On the other hand, there are protests in other villages against the master plan. There was a huge traffic jam in the wake of the farmers’ agitation. Even though the vehicles are jammed and causing trouble, the passengers are standing in support of the farmers. The government has yet to respond to the cancellation of the master plan as per the demand of the farmers. The farmers have locked the Gram Panchayat office in Narsingapur. Farmers have made it clear that they will continue protesting until the master plan is canceled. (Maxim News)
