Husband Has No Right On Wife Inherited Property: SC
Delhi/Hyderabad, April 26 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court has made it clear that the husband has no control over the wife’s money (inherited property given by in-laws at the time of marriage). He should return to his wife even if he used it in difficult times.

Married to a woman from Kerala in 2009. At the time of marriage, the woman’s family gave her 89 gold coins. Besides, she handed over a check of Rs. 2 lakh to her husband. convinced that she would keep them safe, her husband used them for his own needs. A few days after this matter came to light, quarrels started between the two.
In this order, she filed a case in the Kerala High Court to return the gold and money given by her family. But she was disappointed as she could not show enough evidence that her husband had misused the gold. In this order she approached the Supreme Court in 2009, the Supreme Court held a trial and found that the rate of 89 gold coins was Rs. 8.90 lakhs. Then she was awarded, the Supreme Court ordered her husband to pay Rs. 25 lakhs. The Supreme Court has directed that all this should be done within six months. (Maxim News)
