Party leaders said early assessments based on polling percentages indicate a decisive advantage in several urban bodies.

Senior Congress leaders reviewed ward wise data in municipalities and division wise figures in corporations on Wednesday.

They claimed that despite tough contests with the BJP in north Telangana and the BRS in south Telangana, voters extended significant support to Congress candidates.

TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that nearly 90 percent of municipalities and corporations could fall into the Congress fold.

Mahesh said the party expects a strong performance in key urban centres, including Nizamabad and Karimnagar.

In Nizamabad, Congress leaders said they are likely to win a substantial number of divisions. They added that support from AIMIM and Independents could help secure the Mayor post if required.

However, some exit polls suggest the BJP may emerge as the single largest party and stake claim to the Mayor seat.

Similarly, in Karimnagar, Congress leaders believe they can secure the Mayor position with support from smaller parties and Independents. Yet, exit poll projections indicate a competitive race involving the BJP and the BRS.

According to survey estimates cited by party sources, Congress may win 42 to 45 divisions in Mancherial, 33 to 45 in Ramagundam, 29 to 33 in Nalgonda, 30 to 34 in Kothagudem, and 28 to 31 in Mahabubnagar.

Leaders said these figures position Congress strongly in at least five corporations.

The party also claimed it could win between 70 and 80 of the 116 municipalities. In addition, it expects close contests in 10 to 15 municipalities where hung outcomes are possible.

Leaders indicated that discussions with potential allies have already begun in such locations.

Congress leaders said the projected gains reflect growing urban support for the party. They added that sustained public outreach and governance initiatives have strengthened the party’s base in towns and cities across Telangana.
