Hyderabad: A Hindustani Classical Music Concert Held

Hyderabad ,July 10: Surmandal organised a Hindustani Classical Music Concert at Pingali Venkatarama Reddy Hall, Lower Tankbund on Sunday, 10th July at 9.30 am

Pt. Sugato Bhaduri performed a Mandolin Concert and Ms. Rindana Rahasya a Hindustani Vocalist. Both artists were accompanied by Harijit Singh on Tabla and Surendra Bharathi on Harmonium.

Pt Sugata started his performance with Rag Ahir Bibhas, the rag which is a combination of two Ragas. In the last 12 years, this Raag has not been performed in the city. It is a rare raga. It is a morning raga, explained Ot Sugata.

Ustaad Ali Akbar Khan is the messiah of Indian Classical Music and I have great pleasure in performing to pay tributes to such a legend.

Pt Sugata is the only Hindustani Mandolin player. Though there are many in the south, he is the only one in the North, announced Mohan Hemmadi of Surmandal, the organiser of the concert.

Rindana Rahasya started with Raag Shudh Sarang and performed Jhonpuri, Baramasa.

Istanbul Ali Akbar Khan in whose honour the recital was performed on Sunday morning performed in Hyderabad under Surmandal banner in the past, shared Mohan Hemmadi, the cultural and musical ambassador of the state. He being a Konkani, made Hyderabad his home and has been contributing to the growth and popularity of classical music in the city.

Sugato is one of the most sought-after Mandolinists in India today. He is a globetrotting performer. He performed in almost all the premier music festivals all over India.

Entry to the concerts was free. Though it was raining incessantly, still many Hindustani classical musical lovers turned up in large numbers

Over 100 Hindustani classical musical Lovers of the city witness the performances.
