Hyderabad Floods: Osman Nagar People Approach HRC
Amjed Ullah Khan petitions TSHRC about the apathy of Osman Nagar residents, Honble Commission directs Dist Collector Ranga Reddy to visit the area in two days and plan to remove rain water from the houses.
Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman) MBT along with families of Osman Nagar, Ahmed Nagar Saif Colony today met Justice Gunda Rao Chandraiah Honble Chairperson Telangana State Human Rights Commission and brought to his notice about the apathy of residents of above localities where rain water has been there in their houses for more than two months and nearly one thousand families are on road with small children’s and aged old patients without any support from the Telangana Govt.
Mr Khan said the three responsible Departments ie Jalpally Municipality, Irrigation Dept & Revenue Dept are playing blame games and till now three dead bodies have been recovered from above areas. Many families whos houses have been submerged have been deprived from announced ex-gratia of Rs/ 10,000 announced by the Telangana Govt.
There has been no shelter provided or no Medical camps are conducted in this pandemic season. Mr Khan said neither the Govt is removing the water nor laying a big S W Drain to drain excess water. Mr Khan said constant water in their houses has damaged the structures of their houses also.
Due to continuous exposure to cold weather many Children’s and aged are suffering from disease. Mr Khan requested the Honble Commission to personally visit the area to see himself the hardships they are facing.
After listening to the families patiently the Honble Commission said whether the Commission will visit the area or not the decision will be taken after discussing with other members and instructed DistvCollector Ranga Reddy to co-ordinate with Jalpally Municipality, Irrigation and Revenue Dept officials and visit the areas in two days and make necessary arrangements for removing water from the houses and also asked the Collector to conduct Medical camps and make necessary temporary arrangements with supply of essential commodities to the families in whos houses rain water is still there.
Syed Mustafa Mehmood (Gen Secretary) MBT, Sikender Khan MBT, Syed Abdul Raoof (President) RR Dist Minority Dept Cong, Samad Siddiqui etc were also there in delegation. (Maxim News)
