Hyderabad Ganesh Immersion | Hyderabad, Sept. 26: The Ganesh immersion procession in Hyderabad continued peacefully on Saturday, with lakhs of devotees turning up at major immersion routes across the city. Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar thanked citizens for their cooperation in ensuring that the celebrations remained peaceful.
Large crowds gathered at Tank Bund, NTR Marg, Necklace Road, Liberty and Mozamjahi Market. Many devotees arrived with their families, leading to heavy traffic movement and slowing the pace of the immersion process.
Sajjanar said the heavy flow of devotees and vehicles had caused some delay in the immersion process. Police and traffic personnel are continuing to work on the ground to complete the immersion of the remaining idols as quickly as possible.
Hyderabad Ganesh Immersion | Traffic Restrictions Continue on Major Routes
The Commissioner said the immersion procession is likely to continue until Saturday afternoon. Traffic restrictions have therefore been extended on several major roads.
Regular vehicles are not being allowed on Tank Bund, Necklace Road, NTR Marg, PV Statue and areas around Indira Gandhi Rotary due to the movement of Ganesh idols.
Sajjanar urged citizens to postpone non-essential travel or choose alternative routes. He also advised motorists not to enter the main procession routes unnecessarily and get stuck in traffic.
The Commissioner appealed to the public to follow the latest traffic advisories issued by the Hyderabad Traffic Police. He also thanked citizens for cooperating with the police and other departments during the immersion process.
