Hyderabad, Jan 8 (Maxim News): As the vibrant festival of Sankranthi approaches, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, K. Sreenivasa Reddy, has issued a set of comprehensive guidelines to ensure a joyous and peaceful celebration. These guidelines, effective from January 14th to 15th, 2024, prioritize public safety and aim to prevent potential disruptions during the festivities.

To safeguard public order and prevent accidents, kite flying will be prohibited on all major roads and around places of worship. Parents are urged to supervise children closely during kite-flying activities and ensure they avoid rooftops and running on busy streets.

To maintain peace and tranquility, the use of loudspeakers and DJs in public spaces will require prior permission from the police. Additionally, provocative speeches or songs are strictly prohibited, and noise levels must adhere to specific limits based on the area’s ambient air quality.

Following the Supreme Court‘s directives, loudspeakers and public address systems will be banned between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Individuals seeking permission for such activities must strictly comply with all regulations.

Revelers are cautioned against forcefully collecting wood for bonfires and are advised to obtain consent from property owners before using any wood.

The Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli (No. IX), the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and other relevant laws will be strictly enforced to address any violation of these guidelines. Commissioner Reddy emphasizes the importance of responsible celebrations, urging everyone to prioritize safety and respect for the law during this festive period.
