Hyderabad: Illegal Fertility Racket Busted in Madhapur

Hyderabad, Aug 15 (Maxim News) Authorities have busted a major illegal fertility racket operating in Madhapur.

Acting on credible information, police and officials from the Medical and Health Department conducted surprise raids on two hospitals allegedly involved in illegal surrogacy and egg trading.

During the operation, police arrested Narreddula Lakshmi and her son Narendra Reddy, both residents of Andhra Pradesh.

Investigations revealed that Lakshmi, who previously worked as an egg donor and surrogate mother, along with her son, targeted financially distressed women to exploit them for egg donation and surrogacy services.

According to officials, the duo earned money by signing contracts with these women and facilitating illegal surrogacy arrangements.

Further, police confirmed that Lakshmi Reddy is already an accused in a human trafficking case in Maharashtra.
