Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association Warns Against Food Adulteration

Hyderabad, August 6: The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association (THKMA) has warned its members against food adulteration and announced strict disciplinary action, including termination of membership, against anyone found violating food safety regulations.

The decision was taken during an emergency general body meeting convened to discuss recent food safety enforcement actions and strengthen awareness of compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and FSSAI regulations.

Association Announces Strict Action Against Violators

THKMA President Damodardas Vijaywargiya, Secretary Avinash Devda and other office bearers said the association strongly opposes food adulteration, polishing, artificial colouring of food products, misbranding and other unethical trade practices.

The association stated that it would not support or protect any member found engaging in illegal or unethical food business activities.

Members were urged to strictly follow all food safety laws, maintain high standards of quality and hygiene, and ensure transparency in their business operations.

The association said the initiative aims to promote consumer trust and encourage responsible business practices among kirana merchants across Hyderabad.
