New Delhi, August 6: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday approved the GOBARDHAN Scheme to promote biogas production and sanctioned a major four lane National Highway project in Assam.
The decisions were taken during a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers in New Delhi.
Cabinet Clears GOBARDHAN Scheme and Highway Project
The Cabinet approved the GOBARDHAN Scheme with an outlay of Rs 23,731 crore to promote biogas production and strengthen sustainable waste management and clean energy initiatives.
The Union Cabinet also cleared the construction of a four lane National Highway in Assam at an estimated cost of Rs 8,970 crore.
According to the government, the highway project is expected to improve road connectivity and support economic development in the region.
The approvals are part of the Centre’s efforts to strengthen infrastructure and promote renewable energy across the country.
