Hyderabad Police Order Liquor Outlet Closure For Mahankali Bonalu

Hyderabad, August 6: Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has ordered the temporary closure of liquor outlets in parts of the city in view of the Mahankali Bonalu festival to ensure the smooth conduct of celebrations and maintain law and order.

The restrictions will apply to wine shops, toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants in the notified areas.

Liquor Outlet Closure Timings Announced

According to the order, liquor outlets in the Rajendranagar and Golconda zones will remain closed from 10 am on August 9 to 10 am on August 10.

In the Charminar zone, the closure will remain in force from 10 am on August 9 to 10 am on August 11 due to Bonalu festivities.

The Commissioner clarified that while wine shops, toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants must remain closed during the notified period, bars attached to star hotels and registered clubs have been exempted from the restrictions.

The order has been issued as part of security and crowd management measures during the annual Mahankali Bonalu festival.
