Hyderabad Krishnashtami Procession Turns Tragic: 5 Dead
Hyderabad Krishnashtami | Hyderabad, August 18: A tragic incident marred the Sri Krishnashtami celebrations in Gokulenagar, Ramanthapur, late Sunday night, when five people lost their lives after a chariot came into contact with live electric wires during a procession.

According to reports, the mishap occurred when the chariot being pulled as part of the festivities developed a technical issue. The youths accompanying the procession stopped the vehicle and attempted to move it manually. While pulling the chariot forward, it accidentally touched overhead power lines, resulting in a severe electric shock.
Nine people were thrown to the ground due to the impact. Locals rushed to their aid, provided first aid, and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed that five individuals died on the spot, while four others are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Krishna Yadav (21), Suresh Yadav (34), Srikanth Reddy (35), Rudravikas (39), and Rajendra Reddy (45). The bodies have been moved to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
Reports indicate that Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s gunman, Srinivas, is among the injured.
