Hyderabad, Aug 14:(Maxim News): An old building collapsed in Begum Bazar on Wednesday following continuous rainfall over the past few days. Fortunately, there were no casualties as the structure was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
According to officials, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had earlier issued notices to the building owner, declaring the structure unsafe and recommending demolition.
However, the warnings were ignored.
Despite repeated notices, several traders continue to run businesses from aging and structurally weak buildings in the busy Begumbazar area, which witnesses heavy traffic throughout the day.
Concerned residents have urged GHMC to take strict action and demolish such dangerous structures immediately, rather than limiting enforcement to issuing notices. (Maxim News)
