Hyderabad: Over 1,200 2BHK Houses Ready For Inauguration

Hyderabad: Over 1,200 double bedroom houses for the urban poor are ready for inauguration at six different locations across Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.

The 1,200 housing units are at in-situ locations including Ambedkar Nagar, Potti Sri Ramulu Nagar, CC Nagar, GY Reddy Nagar, SC Bose Nagar and Chikalguda.

Among these locations, the highest number of houses i.e, 400 are at Ambedkar Nagar, near Buddha Bhavan, Necklace Road. The lowest is 60 houses at SC Bose Nagar, a senior GHMC official said. The GHMC is constructing double bedroom houses spending about Rs.8 lakh per unit and it has already handed over nearly 2,500 double bedroom houses constructed at other in-situ locations.

While GHMC’s role is confined to the construction of the houses, the beneficiaries are identified by the revenue department. After identifying the beneficiaries, the houses in the double bedroom community are allotted by conducting a draw of lots.
