Vizag Is No More Without The Plant: Chandrababu Naidu

Visakhapatnam, Feb.16 (Maxim News): The National President of TDP Nara Chandrababu Naidu today said that there was no Vizag city without the presence of the famous Vizag steel Plant. He said that the plant had given jobs to over five lakh people of the state.

He said that the former MLA Challa srinivas had given a new breath to the ongoing protest program to prevent the central government to privatize it. Naidu made these remarks after calling on Srinivas, who had sat on fast unto death program. Later he addressed a meeting . Speaking on the occasion he said that the then prime minister of the country Indira Gandhi had come down after a similar agitation by the people of the state for the establishment of the plant . He also said that 32 people has sacrificed their lives for the plant.

He alleged that the chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was not giving respect to the sacrifices made by the people for the establishment of the plant. He made it clear that there was no steel plant in the port base area and added that the value of the lands given by the farmers of the state for the establishment of the plant had now run into thousands of crores of rupees . He claimed that they had declared Amaravati as the state capital after obtaining the views of the residents of the city. He said that Vizag city was very close to his heart. (Maxim News)
