Hyderabad Police Gets New Chief, Srinivas Reddy Vows to Fight Drugs, Crime
Hyderabad Police | Hyderabad, December 13 (Maxim News) Kothakota Srinivas Reddy, a senior officer with an impressive track record, assumed office as the new Hyderabad Commissioner of Police.
He pledged to eliminate drug and gambling issues in the city and improve police response times.
Srinivas Reddy, known for his straightforward approach, has served in prominent units like Greyhounds and Octopus. He stressed the importance of collaboration with Cyberabad and Rachakonda police to fight drugs and gangs.
Addressing concerns about drug use in the film industry, Reddy promised action and warned of consequences. He also plans to organize meetings with film personalities to raise awareness.

Srinivas Reddy replaces Sandeep Shandilya, who has become the full-time director of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau. Reddy has experience as Mahbubnagar district superintendent and led the Greyhounds in successful anti-Maoist operations.
Other achievements include safeguarding government land, securing a Supreme Court ruling, and effectively deploying the Octopus force. His expertise in traffic management stems from his time as DCP Traffic, Hyderabad.

It is known that in Cyberabad, 2005-batch officer Avinash Mohanty has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police. He was earlier the joint commissioner (administration) at the Cyberabad commissionerate and replaces 1999-batch officer Stephen Raveendra who has been directed to report to the office of the Director General of Police (DGP).
Similarly, senior officer G Sudhir Babu, who was earlier posted as additional commissioner (traffic) in Hyderabad, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda. Devendra Singh Chauhan, the 1997-batch officer who served as Rachakonda police commissioner since December 2022, has been asked to report to the DGP’s office, according to the orders issued by Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari (Maxim News)
