Hyderabad Police Registers Case Against Telugu YouTuber Anvesh

YouTuber Anvesh, known among Telugu-speaking audiences for documenting his travels across the world, has had a case registered against him by the Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad. The police initiated a suo motu FIR, alleging that Anvesh published a video on his YouTube channel containing serious accusations against senior government officials and disseminated false information.

In the video, Anvesh alleged that Telangana Director General of Police Jitender, Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy, and senior IAS officers Shanti Kumari, Dana Kishore, and Vikas Raj illegally earned ₹300 crore by permitting the promotion of betting apps within Hyderabad Metro premises. Cyber Crime Police determined that the allegations presented in the video were baseless and filled with misinformation.

The FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by a constable from the Cyber Crime Police Station. The complaint stated that the video was intended to create confusion among the public, damage the reputation of government officials and lawful institutions, and malign their integrity. According to the police, the content appeared to question the credibility of the authorities and provoke public resentment and hostility toward the government. The complaint requested legal action against content creator Anvesh for spreading false information.
