Hyderabad SIR 2026 | Hyderabad, July 23 (Maxim News): The number of Absent, Shifted or Dead (ASD) electors in Hyderabad has come down sharply to 2.60 lakh following the ongoing verification under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls.
According to the latest status report, the District Election Officer (DEO) R.V. Karnan had earlier stated on July 15 that around 11.50 lakh electors were identified as ASD. However, after an extensive field verification drive by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the figure reduced to 2.60 lakh as of July 21.

Among the 15 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district, Yakutpura recorded the highest number of ASD electors with 37,197, while Amberpet reported the lowest at 6,427.
Officials said the reduction reflects the progress made in verifying voter records during the ongoing electoral roll revision exercise.
The report also showed that 42.96% of the digitisation of enumeration forms has been completed across Hyderabad district.
Out of the total 47,36,669 electors, Booth Level Officers have collected 20,34,849 enumeration forms from voters across all 15 Assembly constituencies.
In terms of digitisation progress, Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency topped the district with 49.36% completion.
The Election Commission is carrying out the Special Intensive Revision 2026 to update electoral rolls by identifying eligible voters, removing duplicate and ineligible entries, and ensuring accurate voter records ahead of future elections. (Maxim News)
