Hyderabad Task Force busts illegal coconut powder unit
Hyderabad Task Force | Hyderabad, Mar 25 (Maxim News): The Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda Zone, along with Khairatabad Task Force and Goshamahal Police, busted an illegal coconut powder manufacturing unit in Begum Bazar.
Police arrested one person and seized adulterated coconut powder and packing equipment worth about Rs 21 lakh.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ande Srinivasa Rao, the accused has been identified as Nakoul Marotiyaa (31), a coconut trader residing near Swastik Mirchi Store in Begum Bazar.
Police said the accused was running an illegal unit under the name Balaji Purushotham Coconut Business Shop. He allegedly bought low-quality loose coconut powder from Karnataka at cheap rates.
Later, he repacked the material into branded Chetak packets and sold it as genuine coconut powder.
Investigators found that the packets did not carry batch numbers, expiry dates or valid food safety details.

The accused also did not have a valid licence or FSSAI certification. Police said he cheated customers by selling substandard products for illegal profit.
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force teams conducted a raid at the shop.
During the operation, they seized about 8,300 kilograms of coconut powder. Officers also confiscated three sealing machines, three weighing machines and 400 packing covers.
Police registered a case under Crime Number 92/2026 at Goshamahal Police Station. The case includes sections 318(4) and 274 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 57(ii) of the FSSAI Act.
Officials said senior officers supervised the raid. Inspectors and sub-inspectors from the Task Force and Goshamahal Police took part in the operation.
Police said further investigation is in progress. (Maxim News)
