Hyderabad: Tension Escalates as Govt. Prevents BRS leaders from Studying Hospitals

Hyderabad, September 23: Tension prevailed in Hyderabad on Monday as police tried to arrest three Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi Party (BRS) leaders.

The leaders, who are also members of the BRS committee appointed a 3-member fact-finding committee to investigate the deteriorating medical services in Telangana and were on their way to Gandhi Hospital.

The BRS has criticized the government’s handling of health issues in Telangana. A committee was formed to examine the condition of medical facilities and services, especially in light of concerns about maternal and child mortality

Former Health Minister Dr. Rajaiah, former MLA Dr. Methuku Anand, and MLA Dr Sanjay BRS were reportedly stopped by the police when they tried to visit Gandhi Hospital and tried to take them into preventive custody. This move drew strong protests from BRS leaders and other political parties.

BRS leaders questioned why the government blocked their investigation. The government was accused of trying to hide deficiencies in the health care system, especially in the area of ​​maternal and child care.

In response to the incident, the government beefed up security at Gandhi Hospital, effectively denying BRS leaders access to the Hospital.

While speaking Dr. Rajaiah said Why is the government afraid of visiting hospitals and examining the conditions, BRS leaders said. The leaders of the committee questioned why the government was afraid of going to Gandhi Hospital as expert doctors to give suggestions to the government to provide better services to the people and not for politics.

Leaders who said that the state government is hiding the issue of maternal and child deaths mentioned by our party in Gandhi Hospital…or fear that the failure of their administration will come out. The leaders asked the police to leave their homes immediately.

The move has further exacerbated tensions between the BRS and the ruling party.
