Hyderabad, Oct. 4: Drinking water supply in several parts of Hyderabad will be disrupted for 36 hours from October 5 to October 6 due to repair and replacement work on a major pipeline under the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KDWSP) Phase II.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) said the maintenance work would begin at 6 am on Monday, October 5, and continue until 6 pm on Tuesday, October 6.
The work includes replacing damaged mild steel (MS) air tees and valves on the pumping main and repairing a leak in the scour pipeline. During this period, some localities may face a complete or partial suspension of supply, while others may receive water at low pressure.
Hyderabad Water Supply Disruption: Check Affected Areas
The following areas are likely to experience interruptions or low-pressure water supply:
Southern and eastern areas: Adibatla, Kammaguda, Gurramguda, BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Autonagar, Alkapuri, Beerappagadda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Venkat Reddy Nagar, Uppal, Nacharam, HMT Nagar, Tarnaka and Buddha Nagar.

Central and northern areas: Lalapet (partial), Hasmathpet, Prakash Nagar, Mekalamandi, Bholakpur (partial), Padmarao Nagar, Begumpet, South Central Railway, MES, Secunderabad Cantonment, Lalaguda, Addagutta, Pattigutta, Nallagutta, Gautam Nagar, Ferozguda, Bansilalpet, Ramgopalpet, Sitaphalmandi and Mettuguda.
Other affected areas: Vaishali Nagar, Meerpet, Badangpet, ARCI, Balapur, Maisaram, Barkas, NPA, Shamshabad, Madhuban and Prashasan Nagar (partial).
The maintenance is part of work on the pumping main serving Hyderabad under KDWSP Phase II. Residents in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use available supplies carefully during the shutdown.
Water supply is expected to resume after the scheduled work is completed and the system is restored. Consumers should follow HMWSSB updates for any changes to the maintenance schedule.
