Hyderabad: Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities began in Hyderabad on Monday amid cloudy skies and persistent drizzle, bringing cooler conditions across several parts of the city.
Light rain is likely to continue in Hyderabad and several districts of Telangana until the afternoon, according to the weather forecast issued on Monday morning.
Light to Moderate Rain Forecast Across Telangana
The weather department has forecast light rain over Hyderabad, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Medak, Mahbubabad, Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Sangareddy, Rajanna Sircilla, Rangareddy and Siddipet during the next few hours.
Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Jangaon districts.
The continued drizzle comes as devotees across Hyderabad prepare for Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations, with Ganesh idols being installed at homes and community pandals across the city.
Residents are advised to remain cautious while travelling, particularly on roads that may become slippery due to the ongoing rain.
