Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News): A woman was robbed of a gold chain weighing around three tolas by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons in Girmapur, Medchal, on Sunday.
According to police, the woman was walking along the road when the suspects approached her on a motorcycle. The pillion rider allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck before the duo fled the spot.
The woman subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the chain-snatching incident.
Police examine CCTV footage after Medchal chain snatching
As part of the investigation, police are examining CCTV camera footage from the surrounding areas to identify the suspects and track their movements. They are also making efforts to establish the registration details of the motorcycle used in the crime.
Police are gathering footage from nearby roads and other possible escape routes to determine the direction in which the suspects fled. Further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over chain-snatching incidents involving motorcycle-borne offenders in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas. Police have urged residents to remain alert while travelling alone and immediately report suspicious activity.
