The Commissioner emphasized that only structures built after July 2024 will be demolished. He added even if they are legal or illegal, structures predating this period will remain untouched. He assured local Raghavendra Colony dwellers that no action would be initiated against the old structure.

During the visit, Commissioner Ranganath ordered officials to remove any recent encroachments and take measures to protect the lake bunds. He also instructed Vasavi Sarovar developers not to proceed with construction unless a 17-metre-wide nala, as mandated, is constructed. The nala serves as a critical link between Kamuni Cheruvu and Maisamma Cheruvu, ensuring proper water flow between the lakes. He said HMDA is developing a walking track around the lake.
