Internet/Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): The controversy over the singing of Vande Mataram song at the Congress party headquarters is getting worse. However, party president Kharge tried to justify his behavior. On Tuesday, Kharge clarified that he sang the song sung by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He commented that if singing the song of that time was a crime, then the Center should also file cases against those late leaders. “The Congress passed a resolution deciding what the national anthem of India would be even before Gandhi, Nehru and Patel were born. Whatever you say cannot become a national standard. If this is the case, tomorrow another government will come to power and say it, it may become a rule. We are continuing the tradition that has been going on for 90 years,” Kharge said.(Maxim News)
