If Re-Elected, KCR Will Make People’s Life Miserable: Uttam

Hyderabad, September 12: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that if K. Chandrashekhar Rao retains power in next elections and become the Chief Minister, he would make the life of common people miserable.

Addressing a meeting after admitting leaders and workers of different political parties into Congress party at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the TRS return to power after next elections would prove to be a nightmare for common man. He alleged that the police atrocities increased after TRS came to power in Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said KCR, in connivance with a few police officials, was selectively targeting the Congress leaders and workers. He said that the arrest of former MLA Jagga Reddy was part of the conspiracy hatched by KCR. He said Jagga Reddy was implicated in a false case and was arrested only to demoralise Congress cadre across the Telangana State.

The TPCC chief contended that human trafficking case was 14 year-old and Jagga Reddy had played no role in it. He said that the main accused in the case, Mohd Rasheed Ali, had named TRS president KCR and Minister Harish Rao in his confessional statement made before the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on 22-05-2007. While no action has been taken against KCR and Harish Rao, Jagga Reddy has been selectively targeted by a few police officials at the instance of ruling party.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party, after coming to power in next elections, would not spare the police officials who are not performing duty as per the law and acting as TRS activists. He alleged that the TRS regime had suppressed the voice of common people and it would turn more ruthless if it retains power. Therefore, he appealed to the people to vote out the dictatorial regime of KCR.

The TPCC chief also listed out the failures of TRS Government and described the claims of development as hollow. He also gave a brief account of flagship schemes that the Congress party plans to implement after coming to power.

The meeting was also addressed by former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy, senior leaders D.K. Aruna, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Obaidullah Kotwal, Anil Kumar Yadav and others.

Earlier, former MLA Akula Rajender, youth leader from Jedcherla Anirodh Reddy and Pilot Rohit Reddy, along with their hundreds of supporters joined the Congress party. (Maxim News)
