Hyderabad, Sept 22 (Maxim News): Telangana is gearing up for an intense spell of heavy rain over the next three days, with the Indian Meteorological Department IMD) Hyderabad issuing a yellow alert for the State.
Several districts, including Hyderabad, are expected to experience downpours along with thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls from September 23-25.
IMD Hyderabad Issues Yellow
For Hyderabad, the IMD has forecast cloudy skies till Wednesday, predicting light to moderate rain or thundershowers. A yellow alert has also been issued for the city on Tuesday, urging residents to stay cautious as weather conditions are expected to intensify.
The ongoing southwest monsoon has already brought significant rainfall to Telangana, with the State recording an average of 919 mm, so far, a 31 percent increase over the normal 703.6 mm.
Hyderabad has also witnessed an above-average monsoon, recording 780.4 mm of rainfall, a 36 percent deviation from its normal 575.5 mm.
Nampally, in particular, saw a substantial increase, receiving 920.6 mm compared to its usual 570.8 mm, reflecting a 61 percent surge.
As the State braces for more wet weather, the IMD continues to monitor the situation closely, advising residents to remain alert and take precautions during this period of heightened weather activity. (Maxim News)
