Internet, June 13: India has strongly objected to attacks on commercial vessels carrying Indian crew members and described such actions as unjustified. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar raised the issue directly with Marco Rubio during a conversation held on Friday.
Jaishankar said India conveyed a strong protest over the incidents in the Gulf region that resulted in the deaths of three Indian seafarers. He stated that lethal action against commercial shipping cannot be justified and stressed the need to protect civilian maritime operations.

India also summoned senior US diplomatic representatives in New Delhi to register its concern over attacks involving vessels carrying Indian mariners. Officials described the incidents as unacceptable and called for maritime safety and accountability.
Separately, former US President Donald Trump accused Iran of involvement in attacks on ships carrying Indian nationals. However, Iranian authorities rejected those allegations and called the claims baseless.
Earlier this week, Indian authorities confirmed that attacks on vessels off the coast of Oman affected Indian crew members. Rescue efforts were launched for those onboard, while India renewed its call for de escalation and protection of international shipping routes.
