India Covid: Tuesday saw 4,417 instances of Covid-19 reported in India, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 2,137,268,615. India’s death toll from the Covid-19 outbreak now stands at 23, bringing the total to 528,030. The number of cured Covid cases in India has increased to 43,886,496 following the recovery of 6,032 individuals during the past 24 hours.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, arrived in Delhi on Monday and met Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, at the latter’s home. The two had a nearly hour-long conversation. Kumar intends to meet with various opposition leaders during his two-day visit to the capital, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. According to IT and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the government is working on a revised version of the data protection bill and a planned Digital India law to increase online accountability.
