It is particularly useful in mountainous and inaccessible terrains, offering strategic advantages in modern warfare scenarios. The missile is expected to significantly bolster India’s combat UAV fleet in coming years.

A Collaborative Defence Milestone

The development and successful testing of the ULPGM-V3 system is the result of a collaborative effort between DRDO and Indian industry partners, including defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs), medium and small enterprises (MSMEs), and start-ups working in the defence technology space.

Strategic Significance

Experts believe the successful trial of the ULPGM-V3 will provide a vital edge to the Indian Armed Forces, especially in high-altitude and border operations. The system’s integration with UAVs allows for stealthier, faster, and more precise engagements—a game-changer in modern combat strategy.
