India is set to conduct a mock drill in the border states of Pakistan tomorrow (May 29). As part of this, the mock drill will be conducted in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu. However, it has advised people to be alert during the mock drill. The Center has already completed the arrangements to conduct the mock drill.

A similar mock drill was held earlier this month. On April 22, 26 tourists lost their lives in a terrorist attack in the mini Switzerland of Pahalgam. In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, India conducted Operation Sindoor against Pakistan between May 6 and 7.

Hours before India launched Operation Sindoor, the Ministry of Home Affairs on may 7 conducted a mock drill across the country called Operation Abhyas. The Centre will conduct another mock drill in Pakistan border states this Thursday, a few weeks after Operation Abhyas.

Meanwhile, as tensions between India and Pakistan have reached a peak, the Union Home Ministry is conducting mock drills to educate citizens on how to save their lives during a crisis. Before India’s recent military operation against Pakistan, Operation Sindoor, India had to fight Pakistan in 1971, and earlier mock drills were conducted during the 1962 and 1965 wars. Again, after 50 years, the Center conducted mock drills before Operation Sindoor to ensure the safety of citizens.  (Maxim News)
