India has full faith in the United Nations Convention On the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), in particular.  India’s aspiration for freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region is not a decision taken against any country.  We are adopting this policy for the common security and interests of the countries of this region.

This region should be free from any restrictions or use of force.  Security in the future will not depend solely on military capability.  It will depend on sharing resources, on digital and physical infrastructure, and on jointly addressing humanitarian crises. he said.  Rajnath Singh’s comments have gained significance in the context of China’s aggressive military buildup in the South China Sea and threats to the countries in the region.
