Hyderabad, Jan. 20 (Maxim News): Senior Congress leaders on Monday unveiled the Indira Gandhi statue in Kamareddy, marking a major political and public event in the district. The Indira Gandhi statue inauguration in Kamareddy was held at Indira Chowk near the railway station with grand public participation.
State government adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir, district in charge minister Seethakka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkhar jointly unveiled the statue. Party leaders, workers, and residents attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Mohammed Ali Shabbir recalled Indira Gandhi’s association with Kamareddy. He said Kamareddy remained a Congress stronghold and called the statue installation a moment of pride. He credited Indira Gandhi for pro poor policies like Garibi Hatao and bank nationalisation.
He assured continued development of the constituency and delivery of welfare benefits.
Minister Seethakka said Indira Gandhi symbolised women empowerment as India’s first woman Prime Minister. She stated that the Telangana government was working towards Indiramma Rajyam through welfare housing schemes. She described Indira Gandhi’s decisions as guiding principles even today.
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress ideology followed the Indira Gandhi path. He urged party workers to strengthen the party in Kamareddy.
Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkhar said Indira Gandhi’s vision ensured national food security and welfare reach across villages. (Maxim News)
