Hyderabad, June 21, 2024: Over 2000 yoga enthusiasts and practitioners from various communities turned up at Kanha Shanti Vanam – the headquarters of Heartfulness on the outskirts of Hyderabad to celebrate the tenth International Day of Yoga (IDY) with great enthusiasm.

The event organized by Heartfulness witnessed the participant taking to a series of guided holistic wellness activities. The event was graced by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan. The program commenced with an invigorating Yoga Asana session led by the Heartfulness Yoga Team in the Main Meditation Hall. The session strictly adhered to the International Day of Yoga asana practice ensuring that participants drew the physical and mental benefits to the most. This was followed by a 30-minute Heartfulness Meditation session delving into deeper states of meditation and fostering inner peace.

Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the audience emphasizing the importance of yoga and meditation in achieving holistic health and well-being. “Yoga transcends religious boundaries and significantly contributes to the creation of a healthy human race. Yoga is an art and science of healthy living, a spiritual discipline based on the suitable science that fosters harmony and coordination between mind-body-soul. It embodies our ancient culture of consciousness and a balanced state of mind propounded by Patanjali. Today where division seems to overshadow the basic humanity, knowledge of yoga is a unifying force globally. Yoga helps us alleviate stress and offers remedies to contemporary health issues. I urge the youth to practice yoga every day to make it a discipline. Yoga creates a positive mindset within us and is scientifically validated to overcome psychological conditions and bring holistic wellness. We should unite within ourselves through yoga to unite with the external world. Let us promote health and wellbeing in the society,” he said.

Adding to the day’s significance, the Hon’ble Governor planted a tree at Kanha Shanti Vanam symbolizing growth, sustainability, and the deep connection between nature and holistic health practices.

A demonstration of the Brighter Minds Program session showcased enhancing cognitive abilities and emotional intelligence among the younger participants using interactive and engaging methods to stimulate their mental faculties.
