International Kite Festival to Light Up Hyderabad in January

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Maxim News): The annual International Kite Festival will be held on a grand scale in Hyderabad this year as part of Sankranti celebrations. The event will take place at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad and is scheduled from January 13 to January 18, officials announced.

Tourism Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the festival will once again bring together kite flyers from India and abroad. Every year, the event attracts special tourists who showcase kites of various shapes, sizes, and designs. Therefore, the festival has become a major cultural attraction during the Sankranti season in the state capital.

The International Kite Festival will feature multiple activities spread across six days. Officials said the main kite flying and sweets festival will be organised from January 13 to January 15. During this period, visitors can witness traditional and artistic kites flown by expert participants.

In addition, special attractions have been planned this year. A drone show will be organised on January 13 and January 14. Officials said the drone displays will add a modern visual experience alongside traditional kite flying.

Furthermore, a hot air balloon show will be conducted from January 16 to January 18. The balloon displays are expected to draw large crowds and enhance the festive atmosphere at the venue. As a result, authorities are making arrangements to manage visitor flow and ensure safety.

The International Kite Festival in Hyderabad has been held annually for several years. It is organised with the aim of promoting tourism and showcasing the city as a vibrant cultural destination. Therefore, the event is expected to attract thousands of visitors from different parts of Telangana and neighbouring states.

Officials clarified that entry to the kite festival will be free for all visitors. They urged city residents and tourists to attend in large numbers and enjoy the celebrations.
