Hyderabad, June 29: Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in early September 2026, following its usual annual launch schedule. Although the company has not confirmed the date, industry reports suggest the event will take place within the first two weeks of September.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to headline the event. In addition, Apple could introduce its first foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, reports suggest the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e may debut in spring 2027 as part of a revised launch strategy.
iPhone 18 Pro price may cross Rs 1.5 lakh in India
Industry analysts expect Apple to increase prices because of rising memory and storage chip costs.
According to IDC, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could cost up to $200 more than the current models. As a result, the base iPhone 18 Pro may start between $1,249 and $1,299 in the US. The Pro Max could start between $1,349 and $1,399.
In India, the base iPhone 18 Pro could launch above Rs 1.5 lakh, making it Apple’s most expensive base Pro model yet.
AI and performance expected to take centre stage
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to run on Apple’s new A20 Pro processor, built using TSMC’s 2nm process. Consequently, users can expect faster performance, improved battery life and stronger on-device AI capabilities.
The Pro models may also feature 12GB RAM and launch with iOS 27. Apple is expected to introduce upgraded Apple Intelligence features, a smarter Siri, deeper personal context and better on-screen awareness.
Moreover, Apple could debut its C2 modem, offering better connectivity, improved power efficiency and enhanced satellite communication.
Camera upgrades and new colours expected
Apple is unlikely to redesign the phones completely. However, reports suggest the company may shrink the Dynamic Island by moving more Face ID components beneath the display.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to retain a 48MP triple rear camera setup. However, Apple may add a mechanical variable aperture to the primary camera. This upgrade could improve low-light photography and produce more natural background blur.
Leaks also point to a stacked image sensor, a brighter telephoto lens and a higher-resolution front camera.
Display sizes are expected to remain 6.3 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Apple may also use a more efficient LTPO+ display panel.
Battery life could improve through the efficient A20 Pro chip. Furthermore, the Pro Max may receive a larger battery. Reports also suggest Apple will simplify the Camera Control button while retaining pressure-sensitive controls.
The new lineup may arrive in Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Grey and Silver colour options.
Apple has not confirmed any of these details. Therefore, the launch date, pricing and specifications remain based on analyst reports and supply chain leaks.
