IPL cricket betting gang arrested
Hyderabad, Sept.29 (Maxim News): The SOT police of Cyberabad today arrested a gang involved in IPL cricket betting racquet . Revealing the details of the gang members at a press conference , Cyberabad CP Stephen Ravindra said that they had conducted raids at Bachupally , Miyapur , Gachibowli Mylardevpally areas and three more areas and arrested 23 bookies .
He also said that they had seized ₹2.2 crore worth assets including ₹93 lakh cash, 14 Betting boards, 8 laptops, 247 Mobile phones, 28 Smarphones, 4 tabs, 4 TVs 2 Routers, 1 printer and 5 four wheeler vehicles . He said that the gang members were resorting to the betting by using an app on Google play store.
The CP said that the betting was done in four layers and added that three bookies work as an Associates of the main bookie. He said that they identified that the gang members had network in Cities like Mumbai, Goa and Dubai. He said that they would write a letter to Google and ask it remove the app that is being used for the betting racket. He urged the parents of the children, who are playing the betting games to focus on the phones of their wards . (Maxim News)
