internet Desk/Hyderabad, Mar 2 (Maxim News): Iran US Gulf strikes intensified after the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and up to 40 senior Iranian officials. Iran targeted US assets across the Gulf, while Israel expanded its military operations in Tehran and Lebanon.
Officials confirmed one death in Bahrain following Iranian strikes. Meanwhile, Iraq and Kuwait reported additional Iranian raids. Kuwait’s Defense Ministry stated that several US warplanes crashed in the country, though all crew members survived.
At least 35 people died in US Israel attacks on Iran’s southern Fars province, according to local officials quoted by Mehr news agency. In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes that hit Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Israel said it struck at the heart of Tehran and carried out attacks in Lebanon after Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported more than 30 deaths in the Israeli strikes.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and Beirut’s suburbs. He accused Israel of violating Lebanon’s sovereignty and the November 2024 ceasefire. He also criticised what he described as global silence and warned of rising risks to international peace.
Amid the escalation, Amazon Web Services reported disruptions in Bahrain and the UAE. The company said power and connectivity issues affected data centers in both countries. AWS confirmed that objects struck one UAE data center, causing sparks and fire before authorities shut power.
US President Donald Trump warned that operations against Iran would continue until Washington achieves its objectives. He also pledged to avenge the deaths of three US soldiers.
Separately, Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, denied US media reports claiming he sought to resume nuclear talks with Washington. (Maxim News)
