Osmania University Minorities Cell Holds Higher Education Awareness Program

Hyderabad, March 30: The Minorities Cell of Osmania University conducted an extension activity on March 30, 2026, to promote higher education awareness among minority students.

The programme took place at MANUU Model School and Minorities School.

The session focused on opportunities and challenges in higher education. It aimed to guide students towards academic growth and career development.

Organisers said the programme encouraged students to explore scholarships, career options, and institutional support.

Speakers explained the role of education in empowerment and social mobility.

They said higher education strengthens self reliance. They also highlighted how education supports leadership and innovation. Therefore, they urged students to plan their academic paths carefully.

Experts also discussed common barriers faced by minority students. These included financial limits, lack of awareness, and limited guidance access. However, speakers suggested practical solutions.

They explained scholarship schemes, mentorship programmes, and skill development opportunities.

Prof Hameeda Bee, Director of the Minorities Cell at Osmania University, addressed the gathering.

She also congratulated students who performed well in competitions. These included a quiz contest, Just a Minute, and Talk Tactics events.

Several faculty members attended the programme. Dr Mohd Akhter Ali, Associate Professor from the Geography Department, participated in the session.

Dr Kafil Ahmed, Principal of the school, also attended. Dr Waseem Uddin, Ms Syeda Naheed Anjum, and Ms Shireen Hashmi joined the event along with other teachers.
