Nana Patekar Unnatural Death: Goa Police Register Case

Nana Patekar Unnatural Death: Goa Police have registered an unnatural death case following the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar in Goa on October 8.

The case was registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), according to police records. The registration is a procedural step following the actor’s death and does not, by itself, indicate any suspicion of foul play.

According to the report, Goa Police received a call from a medical officer at Manipal Hospital at 8:07 am on October 8. Police then visited the hospital, spoke with doctors and collected details about the incident.

Police registered the case as Panaji Police Station Unnatural Death No. 62/2026. Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Naik is leading the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death.

Nana Patekar, whose full name was Vishwanath Patekar, died at the age of 75 after being found unresponsive at his residence in Goa. He was taken to Manipal Hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him. A suspected cardiac arrest was reported as the cause of death.

Police records also noted that the actor had residences in Goa and in the Lokhandwala area of Andheri West, Mumbai.
