Is Telangana First State To Implement New Waqf Act? Amjed Ullah Khan Sensational Comments

Hyderabad, Aug 24 (Maxim News): MBT President Amjed Ullah Khan pointing out the way the Congress government in Telangana led by the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is implementing the new Waqf Act-2025 through its Minority Welfare Department, stating that the Secretary to Govt. Shafiullah has issued an order to remove Asad Ullah present CEO Waqf Board, who is Addl. collector post whereas the new Wakf Act-2025 asks to have a (Muslim or Non-Muslim ) as a CEO who should be Joint Secretary cadre officer. With this, Telangana became the first state to implement the new Waqf Act-2025.

In a statement, Amjed Ullah Khan said that the Telangana state has become the first state to implement the new Waqf Act-2025 by issuing the order vide G.O.Rt No. 6 dated 12th August 2025, this order issued in haste and it is the way of implementing new Wakf Act-2025. Taking this as an advantage, one person by name Mohd Quthubuddin approach the High Court vide WP No. 22692 of 2025 pleading that the present CEO of Waqf Board should be removed who is a below the rank of joint Secretary cadre and as per new Waqf Act-2025 and a Joint Secretary Cadre officer should be posted.

Basing on the Writ Petition, the High Court passed the judgment on 5th August 2025, asking the government to appoint a full-fledged CEO of Joint Secretary cadre as per New Waqf Act-2025. Again, the petitioner approached the High Court with a contempt appeal on 7th August 2025 in which the high Court issued two orders in a single day asking the Telangana Government to implement new Waqf Act-2025.

Amjed Ullah Khan pointed out that the Telangana Government should have approached the Chief Justice bench against the orders issued on 5th August and contempt proceeding dated 7th August praying that the new Waqf Act- 2025 is still under discussion in the Supreme Court and cannot be implemented but without approaching the Chief Justice of High Court or Supreme Court the Secretary Minorities Welfare Department issued orders in haste implementing new Waqf Act-2025.

Amjed Ullah Khan questioned the stand of Revanth Reddy Chief Minister, Govt of Telangana, who has been saying that his Government and Congress party is against New Wakf Act-2025.
