Hyderabad: A Jagtial murder shocked villagers after a woman was brutally killed, allegedly by her husband, at Laxmipur in Jagtial rural mandal. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday. The victim was identified as Adaraveni Sattavva. Police said her husband, Mallaiah, carried out the attack inside their home while she was asleep.

According to villagers, Mallaiah first attacked Sattavva with an axe. He then slit her throat with a knife. After that, he again attacked her with the axe. As a result, she suffered severe bleeding injuries. She died on the spot. Therefore, locals alerted the police soon after discovering the crime. The brutality of the Jagtial murder left residents in shock and fear.

Initial information suggested that family disputes led to the murder. However, police are still examining all angles. Villagers said disputes between the couple had been ongoing. Meanwhile, the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be confirmed by investigators. Police stated that they are recording statements from family members and locals to understand the sequence of events.

The couple had two children. Their son works in a private company in Hyderabad. Their daughter stays with her parents. At the time of the attack, the children were not involved, according to available information. Later, police shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem examination. Officials said the procedure would help establish further details related to the cause of death.

Police registered a case following the incident. They launched a search operation to trace the accused. Mallaiah is currently absconding. Therefore, teams are making efforts to locate and arrest him at the earliest. Officials said they are checking possible hideouts and questioning people linked to him.

Meanwhile, the Jagtial murder has raised concerns among villagers about domestic violence and family disputes turning fatal. Police maintained that the investigation is ongoing. They added that further action would follow based on evidence collected during the probe. Authorities urged residents to cooperate with the investigation and share any information that could help trace the accused.
