Manila, July 23: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday called on Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Manila and discussed ways to further strengthen the India Philippines Strategic Partnership.
During the meeting, Jaishankar conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reiterated India’s support for the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship.
India Philippines Strategic Partnership Expands
Sharing details of the meeting on X, Jaishankar said he was honoured to meet President Marcos and reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

He said cooperation between India and the Philippines continued to diversify under the Strategic Partnership framework through the implementation of the India Philippines Plan of Action 2025 to 2029.
Jaishankar is on an official visit to the Philippines to participate in Foreign Ministers’ level meetings under the ASEAN framework.
The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries across strategic, economic and regional sectors.
