Jamiat Ulema President Hafiz Pir Shabbir Ahmed No More

Hyderabad: Maulana Hafiz Pir Shabbir Ahmed, President of Jamiat Ulema Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, a distinguished religious scholar and a respected figure in national and social service, passed away on Sunday morning during Fajr prayers. His demise marks an irreparable loss to the religious, educational, and social leadership of the state.

Maulana Hafiz Pir Shabbir Ahmed dedicated his life to the service of the community. As a former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of the undivided Andhra Pradesh, he actively raised issues concerning the educational, social, and economic upliftment of Muslims. He was widely admired for his unwavering efforts to safeguard the rights and welfare of the Muslim community.

His family continues his legacy of public service. His son, Pir Irshad Ahmed Nasir, is a senior Youth Congress leader and currently serves as the National Convener for SC, ST, BC, and Minority Affairs in the All India Congress Committee. Another son, Pir Munir Jaber, is also an active leader in the Hyderabad Youth Congress.

According to his son, Hafiz Pir Khaliq Ahmed, the funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be held on Sunday after Asr prayers at Shaheen Markaz, Santosh Nagar.

The passing of Maulana Hafiz Pir Shabbir Ahmed has sent a wave of grief across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with condolences pouring in from religious scholars, political leaders, and community organizations who remembered him as a guiding light of faith, unity, and service.
