Jantar Mantar Season 2 Coming Soon, Says CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke

Hyderabad: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and national convener Abhijeet Dipke has announced that the organisation will soon launch the next phase of its Jantar Mantar protest.

Calling it “Season 2” of the agitation, Dipke said the CJP would soon announce details of its next phase.

Dipke made the announcement outside a banquet hall in Delhi’s Naraina on Wednesday after a scheduled volunteers’ meeting was cancelled at the last minute.

The CJP founder said many people had been asking on social media when the next phase of the Jantar Mantar protest would begin. He assured supporters that the agitation would resume soon.

CJP Announces Jantar Mantar Season 2

The announcement came after the CJP alleged that it faced difficulties in holding its volunteers’ meeting in Delhi.

According to Dipke, the hall management cancelled the booking after CJP members reached the venue. He further alleged that other venue owners had also declined to provide space for the meeting.

Dipke alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was behind the pressure on venue owners. However, he did not provide evidence to substantiate the allegation.

The cancelled meeting came days after the CJP announced its national team, with Dipke named as national convener as the organisation works to strengthen its structure.

The CJP had earlier led a 36-day protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue. The agitation attracted students and young volunteers from several parts of the country.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest on June 28 and later began an indefinite hunger strike. He was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated.

The CJP ended its nationwide protest on July 25 following talks with the government.

Earlier, police action during a march towards Parliament on July 20 triggered criticism from opposition parties, including the Congress. The incident also contributed to disruptions in Parliament.

With Dipke now announcing “Jantar Mantar Season 2”, attention is likely to turn to the organisation’s next programme and its demands.
