JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registrations Are Now Open

  • NTA begins online registration for JEE Main 2026 from October 31
  • Exam to be held in two sessions; syllabus and important dates released

The registration process for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 has officially begun. The National Testing Agency (NTA) started accepting online applications on October 31, and candidates can apply until November 27, 2025. The exam, which serves as the gateway to undergraduate engineering courses, will be conducted from January 21 to January 30, 2026.

JEE Main is a national-level entrance test for admission to BE, BTech, BArch, and Planning programmes across India. It enables admission to premier institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). Those who qualify in JEE Main can also appear for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to IITs.

According to details released by NTA, the entire registration process for JEE Main 2026 is online. Candidates must complete their applications through the official website and pay fees using credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI by November 27, 2025. The agency is expected to announce the detailed exam schedule in the first week of January 2026.

JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions. Session 1 will take place from January 21 to 30, while Session 2 will be held from April 1 to 10, 2026. The results of Session 1 will be declared on February 12, 2026. The exam will consist of two papers. Paper 1 will be for BE/BTech aspirants, and Paper 2 will cater to those applying for BArch and BPlanning programmes.

The Joint NIT authorities have also released the updated JEE Main 2025 syllabus. Paper 1 for Mathematics will have fourteen units, while Physics and Chemistry will each have twenty units. For Paper 2A (BArch), the syllabus includes Mathematics, Drawing, and Aptitude sections. Paper 2B (Planning) will include fourteen Mathematics units, two for Aptitude, and three for Planning.
