J&K Bifurcation: Rallies, Meetings Banned In City
Hyderabad, Aug.5 (Maxim News): In the wake of the daring decision of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to repeal Articles 370 and 35 (A) as part of permanently solving the Kashmir issue in Parliament, Telangana Director General of Police Mahendar Reddy prohibited meetings and rallies in Hyderabad city and elsewhere to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Centre has alerted all the States to remain alert and provide more protection with adequate deployment of forces. Prime Minister Narendra Modi rang up chief ministers of all key States in the country on the decision to repeal the two Articles with regard to Kashmir contentious issue. On the Centre’s directive, DGP Mahender Reddy held a review meeting with officials and took measures tighten security. Accordingly, prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC was promulgated in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates and deployed more security forces. All the sensitive areas in the city are under the purview of the police and security forces now. Tight security was provided at all such places and there will be no chance for any sort of rallies and meetings.

Later, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, said the situation in all the five zones of the city was peaceful. He said the police were in regular touch with the community elders and youth. All the senior officials of the city police would camp on the field. “As a precaution, patrolling has been enhanced. Public cooperation was most important on such occasions,” the Commissioner added.
