- Jubilee Hills murders involve kidnapping and killing of elderly women
Hyderabad, March 31: Jubilee Hills murders have created a major stir after two elderly women were kidnapped and brutally killed in separate incidents near the residence of Revanth Reddy. The crimes took place in a high security zone, raising serious concerns over surveillance and policing.
The incidents occurred close to the Chief Minister’s residence in Jubilee Hills, where heavy police deployment and constant monitoring are in place. However, despite hundreds of personnel and surveillance systems, the accused allegedly kidnapped the victims in his car and killed them on a road frequently used by VIP convoys. This has triggered criticism and shock among locals.
The victims were identified as CH Mangamma, aged 56, and Boinapalli Yadamma, aged 70. Mangamma worked as a washerwoman at a house on Jubilee Hills Road No. 44A. She went missing on the 14th of the month after collecting her salary of Rs. 16,000. The next day, her adopted son Sai Babu filed a complaint with Jubilee Hills police, leading to a missing case.
Meanwhile, Yadamma, a resident of Filmnagar, worked as a cook. Her son Ramakrishna filed a missing complaint on the 20th after she had not been seen for several days. Police registered a case at Filmnagar police station and began a search. Later, investigators linked both missing cases during the probe.
As the investigation progressed, police found that the accused worked just 250 meters away from the Chief Minister’s residence. They gathered evidence that he took the elderly women in his car on separate days, tied a rope around their throats, and murdered them within minutes. He then robbed them of their jewellery, travelled about 15 kilometres, and dumped the bodies.
Further inquiry revealed that an unidentified body was found near the Greyhounds office on the Outer Ring Road service road under Narsingi police limits on the 14th at around 11.30 am. The body was in a decomposed state and was cremated by GHMC staff after postmortem. Later, based on clothing and items, police identified the body as Yadamma.
Police arrested K. Saivas, aged 29, who worked as a driver at a house on Jubilee Hills Road No. 44. Reports indicate he continued his daily routine after the crimes, and no one initially suspected him. Authorities are now probing whether the murders were committed for gold or if other motives were involved. The case remains under investigation.
