Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh To Take Oath As Chief Justice Of Telangana On July 19
Hyderabad, July 16 (Maxim News): Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the newly appointed Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, will officially take oath on July 19 at a swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will administer the oath of office to Justice Singh at 12:30 PM, in the presence of legal dignitaries, senior judges, and government officials.
Justice Singh’s appointment follows the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium, and the official notification was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on July 14. He replaces Justice Sujoy Paul, who has been transferred to the Calcutta High Court.
Prior to this, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh served as the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court, where he was sworn in on April 17, 2023. He also previously held the position of Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court in 2022, and has earned a reputation for his judicial acumen and administrative clarity.

His elevation to the Telangana High Court is expected to bring a renewed focus on judicial efficiency and transparent functioning of the state’s top court.
Justice Singh’s arrival comes at a time when the Telangana High Court is actively addressing several key matters related to governance, public interest litigation, and administrative reforms.
